Dear Sir

Yours of the 23 ult is at hand Neither Mr Wood nor myself ever saw Mrs Lincoln Abe's Mother. ^[1] But I have been to See a man in Dubois County by the name of Brooner ^[2] who was living here and about (15) fifteen years old at the time She died. He Says She was rather above Mediate hight. More Spare Made than otherwise, weighing 120d She was rather Coarse featured had the appearance of a laboring woman but nevertheless was a good looking woman. Her Hair was black, Her Eyes I think were blue. She was a Laboring woman and one of very good and moral habits. I do not know whether She belonged to any church or not if she did she must have been Babtist This Mr Brooner was living here at the time. He Seems to rember well these facts with the Exception of the Color of her Eys. He is a man who may be relied on for truth.
