As to the songs sung in those days, by the young folks; I have forgotten all except pious songs. Of these I will give you a few, and I will commence with one which Abe asked me to sing for his father, I complied, and the old gentleman would have me sing it often afterward. It commences thus:

The Hymns used were Dr. Watts' and Dupuy's Hymns. [3]
