Dear Sir.

Yours of 17th received

Answer to first question: Mr. & Mrs. Sparrow [2] died in Mercer County, Ky. near Danville

Ans 2d. Yes, I knew Ben Romine. He was a a scholar and business man — don't know that he was ever a surveyor [3]

Relative to the Book you speak of as being in your office and coming from Indiana, I know nothing about.

I am now in Decatur — will remain a week or So. If you have business of importance, you had better Come down.

Yours &c
D F Hanks
