Elizabethtown Ky April 11th 1866

Dear Sir

You will please pardon my delay, as I was unable to find the marriage of Thomas Lincoln and Miss Hanks — and the delay has been occasioned by my writing to Grayson & Washington Counties, to find if they were Married there, I have heard from Grayson Co. and they were not married there, Have not heard from Washington, but suppose they were not married there, or I should have heard from the clerk ^[1] — I am now unable to tell you any thing definite as to the said Marriage. He, (Thomas Lincoln). was Married in this County to Sarah Johnston — on the 2d day of December 1819. (This was his second marriage)

If the Knowledge of his first marriage ever comes to me I will communicate it to you at once.

Write me at any time, as to any matter you have any reason to believe I can furnish any information — I will be happy to serve you at any time —
