After respects to you, i shall try to answe[r] youre requests, first Abraham Lincoln never corted with intention of Maring a Miss Wood, or any othe Lady while in this contry with intention of Mariage as none by myself, or any of his old friends, i think the nuse in the papers to that affect is in correct, the fite that took place betwen Wm Grigsby and John D Johnston took place on 16,th of July, 1829 neare Ggentryville Ind
