yours of 17th Inst at hand I am not able to positivly say whether James & Rowan Herendon sold Lincoln & Berry any Goods or Groceries my Impression is that they did not I think they sold their stock to Nelson Alley —

I posiitively did buy of R. Radford his stock of Groceries by the lump say $400, on six months time & re sold them the same day to Lincoln & Berry for $650, which transaction was Mr Lincolns first or maden effort in trade it matters not who may tell or write you to the contrary Jason Duncan lives at or near McComb in McDonath Co. Ills
