Duff Green and Francis B. Blair

Green was the editor and owner of the United States Telegraph, which became the mouthpiece of the Jackson administration. From his paper he supported the President's claims and opinions about the evils of the central BUS. He, at first, belonged to the Kitchen Cabinet but was removed because of his long time friendship with John C. Calhoun, Jackson's first Vice President. Though Green did borrow money from the Bank he still supported its destruction.

Blair was Green's successor as the Jacksonian media editor. He was give the Washington Globe as the new administration newspaper. He was a exceedingly provocative editor whose articles were laced with political invective.
